do shoes effect how your player moves?

i never bothered buying shoes, but with my player maxed out, everything boosted, and no more dunk packages left to buy, i figured screw it, bought some air pennys. when i went to play a blacktop game, i noticed how much slower my player was moving around the court. i couldn't make the sharp cuts i'm used to making, and my quickness, and speed wasn't the same. are shoes supposed to effect anything, or are they just there for decoration? it won't even let you go back to the generics. personally, i don't give a damn about the shoes, i just wanna play the game as well as possible.

maybe high tops make you not as mobile? it'd make sense i guess. wish i had known that though before spending 7,500 vc to make me worse, and now i can't reverse it. guess i'll buy a low top next.

No, that is absurd. There's no way 2k could or would program the game like that.

No. You think 2k can handle this much?

Just decorations tbh. If you're moving slower, you might loss your attribute boost if you ever purchased them. Or it might just be lag...

Re: do shoes effect how your player moves?

i signed with Jordan and got to design my own shoes towards the end of the season which included an attribute bonus, during an mvp season.

it was +3-5 in any one attribute of the ones you could increase normally with VC.

you can re-edit the shoe (only the colors and fabric, cant change layers) but the category boost stays the same, not sure if you get to make more than one shoe (would make sense for each season, to be realistic)

but prior to that i could only wear the pre-made jordan collection which had no boosts im assuming the other shoe companies let you do the same thing, maybe only when you reach a certain status.
