Current Gen 2K14 Online Gameplay is Excellent!

Yep I said it, game-play wise this game is the best its ever been online. I finally had a free day to game so I played 10 online quick matches and I went 5-4. In past versions of the game their was always some type of exploit but in this game there really isn't any, last year is was 3 point city in NBA 2K13 and really no defense.

This year if you play sound fundamental defense and offense and don't turn the ball over much you will be fine. Most people who play online are garbage, especially the ones that choose the Heat, I went 3-0 against them today, I had the Spurs.

My only real complaint is the lack of shooting fouls on layups. I get hammered in the paint and no calls most of the time. But I have to say most people complaints about online game-play is not legit, you just have to use fundamental basketball knowledge and adjust your defense and offense to what the opponent is trying to do. Basically everything Coach2K stated in his thread.

I get fouled alot if i pump fake in the paint but i agree its great online just wish it looked like next gen graphics haha

It's good but there's still too much reaching in for my taste.

Nothing worse than trying to run an offense while some scrub is constantly swiping at the ball and throwing double teams at you as soon as you inbound the ball.

It is the best it's ever been, I can agree with that. But it can be really frustrating at times. The offensive rebounding is horrible at times. I was the Heat, he was the Warriors. I got outrebounded 26-6, how the hell? I really wish there was a way to box out, and too many times, the ball will hit the floor, Players just watch it. It's godamn infuriating.

Three's are still too prevalent, I get tired of watching Wade hit threes with consistency, and the kicked ball violation is a nuisance.

More positives then negatives for sure, but it could be better.

My biggest gripe besides the lack of shooting fouls is the 3 pointers. If you're not in their face they will drain the 3 no matter if a defender is in front of them or not. Don't know why the cpu doesn't attempt to challenge 3 point shots they just sit stuck in their defensive stance while their man is blazing a 3. And I have on and off ball pressure turned all the way up.
