Couple Questions

1. I have played 2 games(got it today) and have won 3 faceoffs. Any advice or tips?
2. My 4th line gets more ice time then my 3rd. How can i balance out ice time for everyone? Ex: chara got 35 mins, soderberg on 3rd line got 1:04

1. Lower faceoff difficulty.
2. Manually change your lines.

Re: Couple Questions

I echo manual line changes. They are a must because the AI is idiotic and will just cycle through them stupidly, change on the fly when you need your forwards to get back on the back check, flee the zone when you are in the middle of a cycle, etc...

Re: Couple Questions

For faceoffs, I still struggle, but I've been doing much better by anticipating the drop of the puck. Timing works better when I put my stick down early and then draw the puck back just before the linesman drops the puck.

For line changes, manually changing them is the way to go. As for your 4th line being out more than your 3rd, I think the cpu puts out what it feels is your better overall line. For example, I recently put a younger guy with a 73 OVR as a wing on my 2nd line. The lowest guy on my 3rd line is a 78 and now the cpu always puts my 3rd line out before my 2nd. I manually control my lines so the weird AI doesn't screw me up.

Re: Couple Questions

1) Make sure you pick a stance before the ref drops the puck, and you're also not bouncing around (known as spamming faceoffs). The longer you hold it, the more "power" you have to win the faceoffs. Player's faceoff attribute plays a part in winning faceoffs too. After you have your stance, it's all about timing & practice.

2) Manual line change.

Re: Couple Questions

This is also a good video for teaching you something (not all) about face offs.

Manual line changes are a challenge at first, but now that I've been doing them for a while, I can't imagine having the game do it for me.
