Why Did EA Get Rid of All These Features?

2002 Create-a-team

2003 Custom player formations

2004 Owner mode (that was actually cool, setting beer prices comes to mind)

2005 Player moods, Ability to assign team captains

2006 Qb vision control (I didn't really like it but you could turn it off. It was the only version of the game where P.Manning felt different than B.Gabbert)

2008 NFL Scouting System (Combine stats provided), player roles

2010 ProTak animation to include proper assisted tackles and half sacks!, Extra Point show

2012 Free Agent bidding system. The idea behind this was great the execution just needed some work.

2013 More adjustable slider system. Better, not great, sim engine.

Who knows? They keep adding nonsense features and removing others every time they come out with a new game. If they kept all the features they took out, this game would be so close to amazing. I don't understand why they can't just build on previous things instead of replacing them. I've never seen anyone operate like that. Come to think of it, what feature did they add for Madden 25? That Precision Modifier thing? What a joke.

It's almost like when an NFL teams ownership changes.They pretty much clean house regardless and that seems to be what each Madden team does.While the new regime brought in some good things,others that they implemented in Head Coach '09 were inexplicably still left out.Ian Cummings had some good thing going as well.Some of the really old ideas were unfortunately never carried over from the previous Gen.

I'm still playing '12 and implement specific qb accuracy and int. sliders each game.I take each qb's accuracy in game and (-5) for the CPU and for me(-5 then divide by 2).For ints. I look at the qb's int. pct. for the season.For example,2.2% would by 22,3.5% would be 35.It actually works out very well to see more of a difference in qb's.

Create-a-team was one of my favorite things back in Madden 07 along with the radio show in franchise mode.

Yes! I don't remember what year had this feature but I know it existed along with restricted free agents.

Add in not being able to hire coordinators (OC, DC, and ST) as well.

They had had the combine information for way longer than 08. Pretty much every PS2 gen madden had that.

The last good madden was 12 for PS2. It is extremely sad and I miss when I could have real fun playing madden. The lack of the assistants in this really upsets me. Absolutely no reason to change coaches
