Anybody let your GM do the contracts?

Just curious if doing so would make things more challenging. Wasn't sure if it was worth it or if they were so bad at it it would ruin your team?

They are so bad they would ruin your team-or at least put their spending in the red.

Re: Anybody let your GM do the contracts?

I run with the Steelers and delegate contract negotiations to my GM. I'm comfortable letting my GM negotiate contracts because he is highly rated. I don't allow my GM to shape the roster. I decide who will be re-signed and I bid on free agents. I do allow my GM to negotiate trades. If I'm interested in the player, I dismiss the notification and wait to see if my GM can make the deal. If I don't want the player, I choose not interested. If you're going to let your GM have some power, you have to build in some checks and balances. If not, your GM can ruin your roster. Also make sure that your philosophies are set the way you want them.

Basically, I don't meddle in contracts nor negotiations. My role is roster management.

Re: Anybody let your GM do the contracts?

It all depends on the GM that you have. If he has a bad to mediocre rating, try to do the contracts yourself, but if he has a great rating, give him a few tries to negotiate the contract. If he does well, let him do the rest of the contracts, but if he struggles to do so, you negotiate the contracts.
