Edit Contracts for MyGM mode

Is there a way for an edited contract in roster editor to carry over to MyGM? For example Kobe's extension. I hate that Kobe leaves the Lakers and LeBron leaves the Heat in MyGM most of the time. When I edit and load the custom roster the updated contract shows up but the player is still treated like a free agent.
