Very Frustrated, Baserunning, Help!!

Hi forum, I need some help....Show 13 on PS3.....New to the game this past season and cannot get the stealing down. I am currently playing on "auto- base-running"

1. Can I MANUALLY force a steal attempt with "auto- base-running" on?

When I currently try and force a steal. I left stick to my base-runner on 1st, I release the stick and hold L2, the controller vibrates once and then the pitch and he occasionally steals, but usually, NOTHING....Where am I going wrong? I've experimented with everything.....

2. Am I getting the controls and sequence right? Should I hold something longer?

3. Can I only "choose" to steal and execute the commands AFTER the pitchers wind-up?

4. It seems possible to override "auto base-running" and steal, as I occasionally get something to work, but am I wrong?

Thanks guys, and sry. to b such a noob....lol

Re: Very Frustrated, Baserunning, Help!!

There are several topics dedicated to this as this year in my personal experience it just did not seem to work right.
With that said, what worked for me if I remember correctly that the L1 button got your lead off and then I would try to time the the pitcher release out of the stretch and double tap L2 and did not have a problem after that. Hope this helps.

I don't use auto-baserunning but maybe this helps?

When you hold L2, keep it held until the pitcher begins his wind-up. Then release and the runner should go. Try to time it like a real basestealer.

I actually encountered this as well, manual baserunning hold L2 time it, let go, and... nothing... happens often, feels like im being cheated.

Ill have a stud baserunner with one out on 1st and I cant even go 35% of the time

Re: Very Frustrated, Baserunning, Help!!

The more "experiments I run," the more I see it seems to depend on the situation, as strange as it sounds, that is what I'm seeing. I have been playing a ton of games with Cleveland, and specifically M. Bourn, (a 99 base stealer, in-game). I left stick to his base, release, hold down L2, get the controller vibration and release L2 during pitcher's windup.....and like u said, Clarke99, about 35% of the time.......very odd......Base-running and stealing need to be improved in 14", and I hope those changes go over to the PS3 version of The Show 14' as well, b/c there is NO WAY I'm paying for a PS4 right now till that 1 yr price drop at the earliest!....lol
