Adrien Broner vs. Marcos Maidana (12-14)

This Saturday. Broner is a 4-1 favorite. Will Broner be exposed by a natural power punching welterweight, or will it be business as usual?

Business as usual AB by UD or late stoppage. Maidana is tough as nails, but styles make fights and he's gonna take a lot of punishment that paulie managed to avoid by being evasive and more defensively sound. Should be a great fight.

Maidana will come forward and stand in front of Broner which is picture perfect for Broner. I see Broner cruising to a easy UD.

Probably couldn't have said it better myself. Maidana unlike many of Broners recent competition has a punchers chance, but he himself is nothing more than a target for Broner to tee off on once he finds his range and gets into the fight.

Broner by TKO in the 8th.

Should be mostly easy work for Broner IMO.

I wouldn't be surprised to see him use his legs a bit more than in other recent fights. He sometimes gets knocked for lazy footwork, but I actually think he's got the ability and hasn't needed to use it since he's been able to walk down most of his opponents.

Hmmm...Maidana has never been stopped and how strong is Broner as a welterweight? He never fought above 135 before Paulie.

Which is why I went with TKO. I could see this being stopped because of an "accumulation of damage". All in all, I wouldn't complain if it went 12 rounds of good action.

I wouldn't complain either.

I also have to back off a little because Maidana has fought mostly as a light welterweight. He brutalized Ortiz at 140, making him quit, but was also knocked down 3 times in the first two rounds in that fight. There was no semblance of defense from Maidana in that fight.

Khan beat him in another tough bout, and that might have been Amir's most impressive fight.

We'll see, but Maidana looks to be a legitimate 4-1 underdog. Could be a good-great fight, but Broner is not without defensive abilities that could short circuit this highly offensive fighter.
