Madden 13 - CPU took over my career?

I started a new coach career with M13. Simmed through the preseason, set all my sliders and depth charts, but now it won't allow me to play my week 1 regular season game. The only option is advance week.

During pre season I had to 'check mark' each game, to sim, but that option is gone. When I looked at the schedule it says my team is cpu controlled???

Does anyone know what happened. When I go to "user teams" (under my league), it's locked. How can I take back control of my team?
