Conference Invites

Do you guys remember being invited to new conferences when you played with a lower leveled team? Those were the days. That was when I felt like I had the most fun playing NCAA Football. Now you can just put any team in any conference and it doesn't give you the game satisfaction of being invited to a new one

Re: Conference Invites

ya, EA has really dumbed down things. They took alot of the good features that made NCAA fun but, its nice to be able to keep up with the conference changes to keep things real tho.

Re: Conference Invites

I think the newer custom conference setup is EXTREMELY better than the old system.

Re: Conference Invites

I liked being invited, but have to agree that being able to add teams to conferences is way better. When I ran as Boise State, it seemed like WSU was always the team kicked out for me to join the Pac-10. Now I can just add them.

I am currently play as Georgia State, and want to move them to the SEC or ACC someday, because I had a hard time playing the Sun Belt schedule. Instead I moved them to Independent and I made a rule that I can't move to the ACC or SEC until I have back to back finishes in the Top-25, at least 1 Top-10 Finish, a BCS At-Large Bowl win and my Attendance up to 40,000.

Re: Conference Invites

Conference invites sucked because you had to replace a pre-determined team in that conference.
You couldn't just join a conference.
Or even pick the team you wanted to replace.

That feature was infinitely more half-assed than the current custom conferences system.

Re: Conference Invites

I definitely enjoyed the pursuit of earning a conference invite, but I too prefer the way it is now. Especially with how the conference landscape is constantly changing.

I like the way you do that. I may have to try that out one day.

Re: Conference Invites

I like the new system, you just have to be realistic in how you move teams if you want to keep it has life like as possible.

I am an OC at South Alabama. First year we went 11-2 and finished #17.

I am now banking on a 3-Star 79 overall (+10 gem!) who I am looking to land with FSU 1,000 more points behind locked out to lead me forward.

I have a 3 year contract and in year two, if we finish with decent winning records the next two years I am moving them into the empty slot in CUSA to even it out.
