New to 2K, pardon my ignorance

Just picked up 2k14 for the ps4 yesterday. Tried to start a MyCareer player and initially was able to accessorize him on my way to games, whatever. Even with that though any accessories I would outfit my player with wouldn't show up in the actual game. I Realized that I hadn't yet installed the update so installed the update and after that it made me create another MyPlayer and I had to start MyCareer all over again. Now, however, I'm finding no options to add accessories, tattoos or anything of the sort while I'm traveling to a game. Is this how it's supposed to be? There's no options to ask for a trade or anything like that? Also, every time I start the game up it brings me to this license agreement screen which just results in telling me the servers are down or something. Anyone have any experience with this that can maybe offer me some insight? If so, thank you very much
