Re: NBA Live 14 Interview with Producer, Ryan Ferwerda (Bleacher Report)

They better be on top of their stuff when it comes to rosters, ratings, and player appearance (accessories, shoes, etc.) Because taking away the edit player option forces us to take what they give us. Doesn't even sound like there will be a CAP option outside of Rising Star mode either.

We shall see how this works out.

BM: I always ask this question whenever I get an opportunity to talk to a developer. How will injuries occur? Is there rhyme and reason in regards to how a player lands or falls? Also, can you talk a little about how injuries are presented? Does a player get taken to the locker room; does it depend on the severity of the injury?

RF: If a player is injured in real life, it will be reflected in the line-up for the day.
Major red flag for me.

Live 10 didn't have in-game injuries. The way this guy responds make it sound like there are no in-game injuries.

Also, his response on player editing sounds like we can't change accessories in modes outside of Rising Stars.

Nba live - no player editing confirmed

BM: Will gamers have an opportunity to edit player ratings, hairstyles or accessories. This is piggy-backing a bit off the customization question.

RF: In Rising Star, yes, you’ll be able to customize your player. However, NBA players will stay true to their real life counterparts, but with the power of a connected experience, we can update appearances to reflect any changes throughout the season.

Siiiigh

If this is indeed true this is a huge letdown. Why remove the ability to customize completely? I get the idea of wanting to really show off the connected experience, but what if those player ratings don't translate or get abused in the actual in game product? Now we aren't able to adjust whatsoever to work around those issues?

This was a huge feature in Live 10 that did wonders for roster editing. Puzzling decision by EA to remove this.

What an odd decision...

really, really bad news...

I'm assuming this includes things like signature shots etc.
