My First Time Playing And F1 Game...

And I am completely blow away!

I'm from the USA, and while NASCAR is king here, I'm just not all that into racing in general. I have played some NASCAR games but get bored pretty quick. I had some extra store credit at Game Stop so I picked up F1 2010 and am pretty stoked on it.

Like I said I'm not all that into racing so I wasn't ready to drop near full price for a game I have never played any version of, so the 2010 version it was for me.

Just first thing, the depth of the Career mode right form the start was awesome. Just the way things are set up in this game is great. I juuuust got it tonight so besides some test laps to get the feel, I haven't done much...but I actually plan to try and put in some serious work into this game.

With all that being said, if anyone has any insight into the game or the real world of F1 Racing, please hit me up.

Educate me!

If you have a PS3 F1 Championship Edition is real good as well. It's an older game but some great racing to be had. Also F1 2012 is excellent. I'm like you I always buy the F1 games a year later used for cheap.

I'm glad you're showing an interest. F1 2010 is a great starting point to get used to the driving styles and circuits, because from 2011 onwards, you have to use KERS, DRS and the tyres are a lot more fragile, so the racing becomes much more complicated.

If I were you I'd play a couple of seasons on 2010, then go straight to 2012 or 2013

Same here really, any questions just PM me.

If you want to know about real world racing, ask away. I race in the real world racing a 2 stroke Rotax DD2 Kart at the club level (it's my mini Formula car capable of pulling close to 3Gs in the sweepers). But if you want info on these F1 games as well as other racing games, a good place to go and seek information is: http://www.racedepartment.com/.

Re: My First Time Playing And F1 Game...

Like the guys above have said, F1 2010 is a great game to get your feet wet into F1 games, as the games after 2010 get a bit more complicated. If you have a PS3, F1 Championship Edition (like JMD mentioned) is a good game to get a feel of the mechanics of an F1 car.

All in all, it just comes down to getting some serious mileage in and figuring out your own driving style. While racing in Career mode against the AI is fun, you'll learn a lot more racing online against real people. Of course, since you're American, you're gonna have to watch out for some rather rude Europeans

If you have any other questions, feel free to send me a PM
