I can see it coming

I'm talking about VC ruling everything around 2k in next gen installements
We already know it's in MyTeam and MyPlayer (and thus also in "the park" new feature) and I bet it will be also in the 3rd pillar, MyGM. Given that each GM will have own skills and attributes, I guess you will need VC for develop those.
The risk here is that you could hardly fully enjoy the different game modes without spending real money and/or endless hours for farming.
The situation already has worsen between 2k13 and CG 2k14 (i.e. more expensive packs in myteam and accessories in myplayer) but at least you have some modes (Association, Seson, etc) VC free.
I hope that 2k will not push this too far and would appreciate if a dev could clarify if I'm totally wrong about MyGM

Re: I can see it coming

Relax, it's all speculation. Who knows if we will be able to earn more vc then in current gen? Also attributes will probably be cheaper then My Team gold packs, just like attributes in My Career.
The bad thing for me is, that it will be harder to start several My GM seasons with different teams if you have to purchase attributes for every single time. In My Career it's not that bad, because you're a rookie and develop slowly, but if you want to make your team a contester for the championship you will probably have to get attributes faster which could get expensive.

I'd like to start a season with the Cavs, but also with the Celtics, the Pacers, the Wizards and so on. Hopefully it won't be too expensive to become a better GM in all those seasons.

But I think it's too early to speculate about VC yet.

Re: I can see it coming

I admit I have a beef with VC but that's because I spent over a million of VC for MyTeam in 2k13 without getting a single gold legend center

I agree that as long as you want to go deep with one mode (maybe two), you can manage that with a reasonable amount of VC.
But if every single mode/feature requires VC to improve your team, player or GM, it could become really expensive.

What's wrong with starting off at the bottom and WORKING your way to the top? In my Career at the moment is the only mode I've played. After 17 games I'm rated 71 Ovr. At this rate, I'll be an 80 by all star weekend and 85 by the play-offs. What did you do in 2k12 when you couldn't pay/glitch your way to be the best straight away?

As I said, you are fine as long as you are into one mode.
What about if you decide to start now with MyTeam? Would you have enough VC for carrying out both modes? What about you join now a crew and want to buy some accessories for your MyPlayer?
It's ok if you don't WANT to play other modes. It's a problem when you can't AFFORD to play other modes

Only play with the VC you earn in each mode.

Re: I can see it coming

Has the thought crossed anyone's mind that maybe you earn the points to level up your GM IN MyGM? Like say your team accomplishes goals set(win 5 in a row, rookie of the month, player of the week) and they award attribute points by basically having your team play well. Makes sense. As far as "The Park" goes, it would have no reason for VC as the VC would only be tied to your MyPlayer in MyCareer so you can improve him. I mean logically speaking right?

Re: I can see it coming

Good point.
I'm sure that you will also earn VC in MyGM mode.
It's all about balance between VC earnings/expenses across the different modes. That's why I said that I hope 2k didn't push this too far.
And I guess that in "the park" your player will wear the accessories and street wear you bought with VC.
