Creating Fictional Rosters

I am thinking of making my first fill roster set, I prefer fictional so that is where I'm heading but I'm wondering how the process goes for most people. How do you randomize all the players so that teams stay balanced and such

Re: Creating Fictional Rosters

for me, I developed my own player generator, that turns into a team generator, then go team by team and set my parameters for each position and transfer my players to a spread sheet for creating in game. Ive done the research that satisfies me for demographics, height, weight etc and have built that into the player generator.

If you want to by pass that you can kinda just go to fangraphs, model fictional players after real ones and scatter them through out the league.

I more enjoy the process than the actual editing. Many ways to go about it. Some just guess a lot, some have a system, but most start with a spread sheet

I don't really want balanced teams.
I like to see some juggernauts,
some middle-of-the-roaders,
some cupcakes,
some pitching heavy teams,
& some hitting oriented teams.

This is what I would go for, by balanced I just meant that they can all compete and not have a full team like the Astros out there

Re: Creating Fictional Rosters

I too am in the process of creating a roster filled with fictional players. I am doing via OOTP 13. I have created a fictional league to mirror The Show (Majors and 3 minors) and have the ratings set at 1-100. Then I'm going through each team and creating the players to match each team.

If you have OOTP, I would recommend this. It will give you each rating you need and player description.
