originally i was gonna skip it this yr but is it cool online? basically do cheesers get the edge....? do playing the right way actually work now?

It's great online as far as gameplay, terrible servers. But you can really win by playing BASKETBALL, and having a good bball IQ means a lot this year, only thing that hold it back is no Practice plays mode and the steal spam, but that's not a big deal for me as I know how to avoid getting stripped.

But you need stick skills, and I don't mean turboing to the paint you need to really know how to play the game before jumping online.

98% of this forum say you get rewarded for playing the right way. I on the other hand just get a bunch of missed contact shots with 7 footers while my opponent gets to the paint at the speed of Iverson. So interpret that however you want.

I will say this as I mentioned in the Sundown thread. If you use the Celtics or average bigs and think you will be scoring at ease with most bigs don't bet on it. Bigs miss an whole bunch of layups in this game I agree. If you haven't mastered your team and the ability to score inside and outside with playbooks etc don't be upset when you don't win. You have to play to your teams strengths or you will get exposed.

An elite PG in this game under the right user's hand can be a problem, especially if you have no counter. This is the first game 2k has put out probably since 11 where I feel knowing your team's strengths and weakness puts you at an advantage but even the lower teams can compete with the upper tier teams just on bball IQ.

Yes...and I've been missing this in what seems like FOREVER...Some of the best games I've had in the past were against very skilled at what team they used becaused that actually mattered...man, there used to be people that would make you sweat with some of the worst teams in the league...in 2k13 I saw 0 of that...it was always Miami, knicks, thunder, lakers...like 99.999999999999% of the time...in 14 I've already seen almost every team(except bobcats for some reason,lol) and players are getting good with them already...can't wait to see the competion in another month...its starting to feel like the 'ol days again...FUN...

i'm just speaking from a My Team perspective. Maybe i'm not that good idk but when im missing around the basket with Marc Gasol and Bogut and my opponent is making those same shots with Richard Jefferson and Kevin Martin i don't know what to think

Shot timing perhaps...paint shots u almost have to let go a split second AFTER the release...that's the way it feels for me...very long...<<
