Don't Let EA's Art Team get away with a lack of effort, again...

Year after year EA spends less and less time on player faces. This year, only 17 new cyberfaces were added, which is just not enough considering how many key players still do not have them. But even I did not know just how bad things were until this summer when the NHLPA posted an article about their annual Rookie Showcase. The article reads-

Quote:
EA Sports... had a room set up in which the players got to try out the unreleased NHL 14 video game. When they could be dragged away from playing, the players also posed for three-dimensional headshots that will be used for the 2015 edition of the game.

This clearly states that EA took scans for the rookies so that they could have their likenesses added, but a month after release the rookies who attended still do not have their real faces. Even worse, this routine has gone on for three years straight.

With a patch coming soon, this is the perfect time for the NHL team to finally add the faces of the 62 players that took scans but have yet to see their cybers added. However, nothing will be done if the developers don't know see that people care about this issue, so I'm asking every one of you to please create an account on the EA Forums and speak up so that the moderators on that site pass on this information to the devs. Having cyberfaces is a basic concept to sports video gaming, and it will only help better the depth and realism of the series if this gets done.

EA Sports also had a station set-up, a room where they took head scan pictures of the players from all angles. These images will be used to make the video game versions of the players for next year's NHL '13.

I've already posted in support of your movement over there a few times in the past, but I'll throw my hat in again.

Using the new roster editor I checked to see if Dubnyk and Dougie Hamilton had hidden cyberfaces, but nope, game simply crashed. Looks like they're faces aren't even in the database. So disappointing.

Maybe, JUST MAYBE, this shows you how early they are already getting to work on the next game.

Really, is it SO important for them to not look ahead to the next version of the game, all in the name of putting PICTURES in a game that is already released? For something that has no effect on gameplay what-so-ever, they must push back their future work?

C'mon.

Or, if you're not interested in the faces that have already been scanned being included in the game, or faces that were previously in the game and were removed being restored, you could just... you know, move to the next thread?

Literally all were asking for here is to take 5 minutes out of there day to add maybe 10 more cyberfaces to the game that they ALREADY have ready to go. Don't think that's gonna screw over the entirety of the NHL 15 developement.

I'm sure it doesn't take just 5 minutes. I'm sure it's not just a scan and go type of thing. It's not magic. Things do need to be worked on back at the labs, just like photography isn't just snap and put it in the magazines.

Plus, there are bigger things to work on, like features and gameplay, which is something that matters to each and every single person who buys the game. As opposed to pictures. I'd rather have a game that plays well with pictures of dirt or Sesame Street characters and generic game faces than a game that doesn't play well with every single players current face and picture.
