I guess this is as good a place as any to ask... Has anyone seen if 2k plans to release or give an update to the mynba2k app to work with 2k14? Haven't seen anything myself.

You're right you did earn it, for NBA 2k13. Pretty sure that is not a common practice for series of games (GTA, Madden, Battlefield, etc etc) so why do you expect it here?

In any case it would have been nice from 2k to give a little "welcome back" bonus (i.e. 2000 VC) to people having played previous 2k installements
As in other series you have special weapons/skins if you have played previous episodes
