Has Crews/Blacktop been balanced on offense?

My main issue with blacktop is that it was too easy to score. When you run 5 on 5 at the average park, people do miss open jump shots (and people REALLY miss contested jump shots). There are usually like 2 guys with great jumpers and then everyone else is average or awful. What I'm saying is, it's too easy to score on blacktop. That's either because everyone is a 99 or there is something in the code. Has this been fixed? Or is 2K banking on the upgrades in defense to allow us to affect scoring?

I found blacktop frustrating because eventually it boils down to who can make the most 2 pointers first. The problem is, no matter who shoots them, they go in at about the same rate.

Would love to get get L2DK in here on this, but everyone is welcome to speculate. Please don't turn this into a "but it isn't really crew!!!" thread. We have enough of those.

Let's be realistic, it's doubtful they would balance it out too much. People like offense, they are just giving us what most people want.

They made defense easier to play this year, in fact they've been talking about it on all their livestreams.

They also changed the way the game is played, admitted Blacktop was arcadey and assured us that Crew would be different. No point in having leaderboards if it's as easy as Blacktop, the number 1 team would be a bunch of cheesers.

These two combined should allow for more balanced gameplay.. Although I think the real problem is how easy it is to get vc, so everyone can max out their cheating max height players (or close to it) rather quickly.

Note: If anyone reading this plays with max height, and you're over the age of 15, shame on you.

While I don't play with MAX Height(6'10 PF), you have to understand that in the world of competitive online gaming people will be doing whatever gives them an advantage that is within the rules or guidelines of the game. They don't play to have a balanced match where Everyone has fun. They play to win using the best techniques available, repeatedly, to accomplish that task.

If the best course of action to win is to have a 7'3 character, and there are no penalties for doing so, why would I want to limit myself to 6'10? Because other people think it's cheesy when they have the option of doing the same thing?

Please understand that I see your point, but you cannot condemn people for wanting to win. Especially when you are given the same choice and choose to hinder yourself. 2k needs to make the attribute sheet reflect the changes in height, but in 2k13 it does not, because we have freak of nature players like Durant who are waaaaay too big for their position, but have freakishly good ball handling and speed.

And the worse part: If they implement a system like that, that hinders based on height/weight, the online game will be boiled down to what the highest height/weight combo is before the stats really take a hit. So if you can still gets great attributes with 6'11, 250lbs, and anything above that dramatically effects the attributes, you will see nothing but 6'11 250lbs players online.

I'm not defending them, I'm just explaining the mindset which is very justified given the tools we've been handed. The whole part of competitive gaming is figuring out what you can get away with and win all of the time.

Have they said if there will be 3 seconds in the lane called? If not, prepare for every team to have a max height guy camp in the lane the entire game.

Well with it being set to superstar and simulation sliders, that shouldnt be a problem anymore. Blacktop was set on default, and im sure it was on either pro or allstar

Great idea for the future. 2k sports partners up with the DMV and does a mandatory driver's license check before creating an online myplayer. This solves the whole max height issue. You would have to use your real height and it would be a much more interesting and fair playing field.
