Have someone selling for $40. Is this a steal or should I stick with 13? Haven't seen any great reviews..more disappointed people if anything. Thanks guys

$40 is a good price. I bought it for $60 and I like the game.

I think I will lke it more once we get a few patches and the sliders down.

Will you be playing GTA next week? If so do you need NHL yet/

Hard to say what it is worth to anyone in particular. I paid $40 for it (had $20 off at a retailer) and I have no buyers remorse.

A lot of little things annoyed me in 13 which were cleaned up quite a bit in 14 (in 13 the AI d-men couldn't handle the skating engine at all, 14 helps that a lot). The AI is slightly better in some areas.

What 14 isn't is an earth shattering upgrade from 13. The changes are much more minor (which I'm ok with). It isn't a "must buy" but I don't think anything in there screams "don't buy" either.

Definitely.

Bought mine $45 brand new. What's great is that I don't see an online code needed anymore. Put the disc in, logged onto PSN, and online was good to go. That was a bit of a surprise actually.

I paid full retail and am super happy. Much better than 13, and the best entry in the series...by far.

EA did away with their online pass system. Not sure how far back, but at least as far back as '13 games.
