Interception Nullified By A Clipping Penalty During The Return

I should and will report this to the bugs/glitches thread if more people can confirm this somehow. Was playing an Online CFM game Week 2 against another User, I'm on defense, down 6 points in the 4th quarter with a little over a minute left, one timeout, 3rd n 8 or so, their at my 35 yd line. They throw an interception which I advance a few yards but there's a penalty on the play. I shake my head figuring it's a roughing the passer call but it turns out to be a clipping penalty during the INT return, no biggie, right?

WRONG, they accept the penalty, get the ball back at my 10 yard line and eventually the run out the clock for the win.

I'm not even going to rant, I just want to know has anyone else experienced this or is it just some random thing? Maybe even I am somehow missing some other explanation but I clearly saw the ref signal clipping and offer my opponent the pop up option to accept or decline, neither of which should have resulted in them getting the ball back. I even pondered the possibility that the clipping call was on my opponent before the INT and I accidentally hit "accept" but that shouldn't reward them the ball 1st and 10/goal at my ten either. WTF?

I swear they dont test this game out and those prima guys should know way better since they gotta play the game to make their strat guides to this game. Man im so tired of this companies mishaps and ineptness to make a decent football game consistently!

Even challenges are screwed up in this game and whats done is done!

You think that's bad! I was down by two in the fourth quarter with 39 seconds to play (Score was 34-32). They are at there own two yard line and are trying to run the clock out with inside runs. I send an all out blitz trying anything possible to stop them in there own end zone and tie the game up (I still have two time outs by the way). Its third down and 11 and he hikes the ball. My outside linebacker breaks off his blocker and makes the tackle at the one yard line pushing his running back into the end zone for the safety!!!! I am jumping up and down celebrating the game tying safety and getting the ball back with plenty of time to get a field goal when I realize that they have the ball back at the 1 yard line with fourth down coming up.

WHAT?!?!?!?! I check to see if I can challenge and I do not have the option to do so. The refs do not call for a booth review. So I check the replay over and over and over and over again from many different angles. It is clearly a safety. Yes the tackle was initiated at the one but I cleary pushed his player back (You know that stiff arm animation where your tackle and the ball carrier fight for yards) at least 3 yards into his own end zone. The knee was not even close to being down in the field of play. Still no booth review and no ability to challenge. He punts the ball on fourth down and I am able to get close to field goal range but not quite. It would have been a 62 yard attempt other wise. He plays good defense and I wind up throwing an interception. Yes my mistake but regardless the game should have been tied and I should have the ball on a safety punt.

The game got this correct. You initiated contact within the field of play. It's not where you tackled him but where you began to tackle him.

Yea any game I have seen on tv if the contact is initiated outside the endzone and is pushed into the endzone they spot the ball at the spot of original initiated contact.
