How to become an All-Madden player?

Right now, I'm on Pro difficulty and I'm pretty bad at this game. How can I get good so where I'm able to win on All-Madden and also be good online?

Just keep playing it, learn your playbook well. Best thing to do is know your weaknesses and strong points. Establish a decent running game and mix things up with well timed screens. Don't force throws otherwise you will definitely be picked off on all madden. You can not really teach anyone to play madden well, just practice.

Honestly, there really is no specific 'how to', if you want to improve, I would recommend you just trying to execute plays in practice mode until you get the hang of running and throwing, watching some real NFL games every Sunday helps too. Ask any experienced Madden gamer and they'll tell you just keep practicing at the game. Me personally, I wouldn't worry too much about becoming an 'All-Madden'/[insert difficulty level here] player, but rather play on the level that you're comfortable with.

There are two ways I can recommend. One is to fully learn and understand concepts with in the game and plays and the other is to find specific plays that work for you and drill on those until you run them to perfection. The first has a steeper learning curve and can be frustrating at first but will ultimately make you a better player. The second is easier and can elevate you game quite a be with little effort besides practice but you'll eventually hit a wall.

Either way I would recommend figuring out what it is you are trying to do and focus on that with realistic goals and expectations. Otherwise if you are going at it haphazardly or with unrealistic expectations you're just going to find your self frustrated nonetheless.

learn the basics, and practice a lot. turn down INT's on the sliders and that will help so that you can play the game and not just practice mode. once you are winning every game on pro, go to all pro, same thing there. eventually you will get the hang of it. but make sure you understand simple football concepts, while also understanding that certain things in this game that you may think are smart, actually burn you more than anything.

its just practice with placing the football on throws, on juking and learning how to run, and on defense, basically its learning to ball hawk and to wrap up and not go for big hits. I recommend not using the hit stick on defense until you are at a point where you are shutting them down tackling wise

also understand how to use your players. I am far better with my chiefs than anyone else because I know that team, I know the players and what they are good at (going over the middle, or catching sideline passes, or certain run plays based on speed, etc)

Re: How to become an All-Madden player?

Some say use practice mode, and to those I say 'go for it'. It is great for running the same play over and over and figuring out different places to hit your receivers in the routes. It's also cool for running the same D at you to figure out how each D covers your favorite plays.

I prefer 'practicing' in the games though (not your season or career, obviously). Maybe it's the practice stadium, idk, but Practice area doesn't feel the same. Plus I think the D cheats if you run the same thing over and over...instead of 'playing dumb' like a practice really is sometimes.

either way, pick a few favorite plays (start small) and learn every part of them, every rec's routes, and where to throw the ball. Then try different 'touches' on the ball. Try loft one into him (on the same plays), then try to bullet it. Watch how the D reacts to when (where your rec is) you throw at him. Watch how your rec goes for the ball if it's lofted/lasered.

Now try those same plays, and throws, but try to lead them and see how the stick affects the ball path. Some people like to control the WRs, but I wouldn't work on that yet. Maybe do a 'click-on' and 'catch', but that's about it, if you are just starting out. Just try to hit various receivers at different points in the routes. Hit the slant before the LBs...now hit it after he passes through the middle...did you have to change the velocity, move in the pocket to gain more time? Those types of things.

This will allow you to feel comfortable with passing controls.

For running, I only offer a few tips.

  • Keep trying (don't get discouraged) - bump down the difficulty or block slider if you are really having issues with pressure or blocking.
  • As a RB on handoffs , use speed burst minimally. In the beginning, don't use it hardly EVER, until you cross the line-of-scrimmage. You'll outrun your blockers if you use speed too much. Plus, the D seems to 'know' when you hit 'speedburst', and it seems they react differently (more aggressive).
  • Run slow and patient (you may want to turn the game speed to slow, to see how the run develops) - like they told the kid in Searching for Bobby Fisher..."don't move until you see it". It'll come.
  • You'll find if you just run regular (no speedburst), you'll see that you are kinda able to 'control' your blockers by your running path (not going too wide, not cutting up soon enough, etc). Lab (practice) some runs - like the passes - and see how the blockers move on each play. Watch the D, and try to 'lead' your blockers into them. Sure the AI should be better, but it's not, so we have to deal with it. This is how I deal.
  • Don't forget - All-Madden 'cheats', so once you get there, get ready for fumbles in the red-zone on game clinching drives and all that. Drops by clutch receivers, and getting run down by DTs. So, in a nutshell don't get discouraged by not getting to 'All Madden'. All-Pro with harder sliders can be quite difficult also.
  • Setup a real game, and just play the O, switching controllers. Or vice versa!
have fun, it's just a game!

Re: How to become an All-Madden player?

There's a couple ways you can get better. The simplest is to just practice. However, you can try money plays and play the computer instead of the game.

For example, against man coverage, curls almost always work. Also, Bears Dig is an overpowered play - I can get 15+ yards a play by simply throwing to A every time he makes his cut (this is the #3 receiver, so make a change to have someone better there). Basically, its a play that has a small selection of defensive plays to defend with. The defender must call the correct zone coverage, otherwise they have no chance. Even with the right coverage, sometimes it is still uncoverable.

In addition, when I mentioned playing the computer, Ill refer to a "glitch" in Madden 13, when I did any sort of run to the outside (like Power O) with a fast HB (94 speed +). The AI was programmed awfully and instead of taking the fastest path to you, they will fall behind you, within diving distance, but won't dive at you. Instead, theyll wait for a CB or safety to slow you down.

This is the "cheap" way to beat the computer. In Madden 13 I was on All-Madden with sliders that made the computer much better, and I still won most games 60-3. Now I use gameflow so I can have good sim games. Hope this helps though. (helped me win the SB with some friends in an CCM lol)

Re: How to become an All-Madden player?

The game is all about flow you should listen to it. It tells you what to do practically. It tells you information about players, player alignment and it even tells you when the defense is blitzing. Your offensive line tells you when the defense is blitzing and once I know this, I fake snap (hard count) this is not use to draw the defense offsides but to slow the blitz/pass rush. I like to hear my players on the field I normally don't leave my huddle until after the commentators finish talking. You will hear everything if you do this. Madden is about timing, listening and patience. The commentators points out defensive/offensive formations and player placement on offense prior to snap. Take your time and lay off the "A" button my friend. Listen
