Why doesn't Kevin Harlan use his signature lines (more often)?

Is there any particular reason (ie. trademarks)?

In 2K11 (I think), I led a big comeback with Ben Gordon, hit a three at the buzzer and he screamed "Right between the eyes." I never heard it, or any of his other popular phrases, again.

Are they just extremely hard to trigger, or is there something else going on?

I'd prefer these to Clark Kellogg's food references

It would be phenomenal if Harlan recorded catch phrases and some highlight lines with this much emotion, especially on posterizations and end of game shots.

He should just record a bunch of names in that tone so they can tack that onto one of his sayings.

HOOO! HARRISON BARNES! NO REGARD FOR HUMAN LIFE!

NBA (David Stern) think that those lines imply violent actions or references. Like right between the eyes refers to a headshot to some, and No regard for human life could refer to some kind of mass murder or something to some. Not that I agree with the NBA though.

This.

Video games need to portray the positive image that the league being portrayed wants--it's also a reason why fans don't rush the field in a college football game.

Yeah and don't forget the no tattoos on both football games....it would suck if Stern decided that players shouldn't have tattoos represented in the games.

I might be wrong but I think that at some point, within the NBA introduction program for rookies, they are/were adviced (not forced) not to have them done, tattoos, at least not visibly ... so I wouldnt doubt this to be related to why rookies are the most probable to be tattooless within the 2k game.

As for the original topic, I am more into having different tones, reactions and emotions given distinct context than the lines themselves.

Doesn't explain why "He just sucked the gravity right out of the building!" is missing.

Link?

I don't see why Stern would get upset about it being in a video game, when Kevin Harlan is paid to say it in real life. If it were such a clash of values, I'm sure Stern (the man who was able to keep Stan Van Gundy off ESPN) could tell TNT to pass the message along to Harlan. It's not like we're talking about techs, fights or tattoos - which are blemishes that might be hard to control in real life.

Not to mention, I've heard "right between the eyes" in 2K before.

But unless Stern also has something against gravity being sucked out of buildings, flights being cleared for landing, things going up high & down hard, etc, there's still some explaining to do
