Is my CFM scheme broken?

using the NY Jets their default defensive scheme is a 4-3 Attacking, which is correct for this year. However the players listed are LE1, RE1, DT1, LOLB 1, MLB 1, MLB 2, ROLB 1.

Shouldn't it show 4 linemen and 3 linebackers or does it always have the same positions listed even if you use a 4-3 defensive scheme?

Sorry if this was asked before this is the first time I payed attention to the schemes.

Schemes was a brand new feature in '13. Naturally it did not work the 1st year and does not currently work now.

Schemes are 100% broken. U can pretty much ignore then altogether if you choose. Just switch your playbook before a came and your good.

Yes it should and I think it's just an error. I've been reading that a lot of people are having issues with schemes. By the way, what do schemes actually do? I know they show a different OVR for players, but beyond that, does it have any on-field impact?

It only changes the Overall of your players from what i've read. Not the overall ingame but the overall displayed in franchise menu. Well not the Offensive and Defensive schemes, but the player schemes themselves. That said however it should give you the option of 4 linemen and 3 LBers.

I don't think it is totally useless, it is useful for people that are less aware of the difference between a 4-3 outside linebacker and a 3-4 outside linebacker and what attributes make a good one of either type. It is helpful for deciding what type of players to add or cut or scout. I wouldn't want it to have an in-game impact.

I believe it also helps the AI decide how to manage their roster. With 32 team control we can set the other 31 teams schemes now so it is actually useful in that regard quite a bit.

Ah okay, so those of us who understand how to assemble our personnel don't need to worry about it?

I was a little concerned because I like to play a unique 4-3 that utilizes a run stuffing RE that you normally see in a 3-4, but I wasn't sure if his on-field play would suffer because he was playing "out of scheme."

Re: Is my CFM scheme broken?

Yea it is useful if it works properly. But it doesn't. Like the original poster said

Also, even when I change my scheme around and change the type of players preferred etc. none of my teams ovr move. They are stuck at what they began at at the beginning of th season. Hopefully it does recalculate in the off season though. Otherwise this is a terribly broken feature (that actually worked better last year).

Really hope it does recalculate in the off season. If it doesn't then teams that do switch schemes, lets say from a 4-3 to a 3-4, are still going to be keeping 4-3 DEs over 3-4 DEs because of the overall

It won't affect in-game. If you run with 32 team control but let the CPU auto draft, sign and release players the player types in their scheme should affect the type of guys they draft, resign and cut. It's neat you can make a team implement a new scheme in that way just by going in and changing their player types without having to do it all manually.
