How many of you play on the defensive line only and pick your plays before the offense picks theirs or don't look at what the offense is coming out in if you play the cpu?
I do! I play mostly online and I rely on my defensive knowledge and skills to pick the right play by knowing my opponent tendencies, mixing up defenses, and playing mind games with them. And I do use the default audibles and defensive hot routes, I also drop my defensive tackle in the middle to help in pass coverage when needed but I always begin the play using a defensive linemen .
I use to wait til my opponents pick their offensive plays but I got tired of them dictating my defense now I do what I do on defense!

Well I say real defenders always match personnel and user control a LB or safety. Why rely on the AI to do the hard work (coverage) for you?

Why use defensive knowledge when there's cheese plays and people that don't know football? Just my thoughts.

No see what you are doing is making up for you lack of defensive play calling skills, that why you use the LB's and safety's to make up for your bad defense.

You do realize every NFL Defensive Coordinator switches personnel based on what the offense comes out in right?

You do realize if you call a 4-3 and the guy comes out in 5 wide and has any amount of skill youre screwed right?
