NHL 14 Rant... really EA?

Anyone that spends 60 on this game after playing the demo is either addicted to online play or has low standards on what a 60$ game is. The Celebrations are the same and no group celebrations...The goalies still fall down on there *** whenever making a big save... AI hasn't been improved at all... rebounds still bounce out like a tennis ball bouncing off of a brick wall from a serena williams serve... the commentators are now 10 years old with no updates ... the presentation still sucks... NHL anniversary mode is a total gimmick which everyone knew from the start... i can guarantee you that the GM mode wasn't touched this year and we still have the same player progression bugs and BS that this series has had for the past decade... i hope you enjoy your rookies with 70 in endurance for there entire career and 70 % of the league with 99 in puck control and passing...is the fighting and new hitting engine worth 60 bucks??? no and anyone that disagrees is secretly *** for rammer... this franchise needs to die already

While I agree the flaws you pointed out need to be fixed and or improved upon, it's my choice to buy the game. $60 and considering I'm gonna play the game until NHL 15 comes out most likely, I'd say I'm getting my money's worth. You're entitled to not buy the game, but people are equally entitled to buy it for whatever reasons. Nobody's right or wrong.

Well the choice to buy a game is a given, so not sure why that has to be said. My criticism of people critiquing a game that has not been released as of yet is that.... the game has not been released as of yet!

You're wrong on a few of your points.

The one I take issue with is the last one. Just because people disagree with you doesn't mean they want the want the game to be bad; And if you want the Franchise to fail I see no reason for you to post here anymore.

Instead of using your time to make this post, it would be better to post something constructive on EA's Game Changer website in order to help the devs.

Re: NHL 14 Rant... really EA?

You could always wait for a deal to happen on the game. Either at the E3 deal that happens few months earlier from the release date, or Blackfriday a few months after. $45 for NHL 14 for me, after tax. You probably get a similar deal in Black Friday.

NHL Anniversary and Winter Classics? I agree they failed on their part as it should be part of the online gameplay.

Commentators & Presentation: Yes, they're old. Do you expect a complete overhaul with the PS4 & XBONE coming out for a game that's only for PS3 and 360 this year? From a business standpoint, it'll be smarter to have the change in NHL 15. If they failed to do that, then you can be truly disappointed.

AI hasnt been improved at all? Yes, i agree. Addicted to online? No because you don't have to deal with AI in EASHL (6v6) and it makes the game that much more fun.

Re: NHL 14 Rant... really EA?

It's the same things with COD (I only agree with you a little bit)

Look at the game in and of itself. It's still a great game. If I hadn't played a hockey game in a couple years, or a COD game, and I decide to get the latest one, it's still a good game that's fun. But yearly improvements are minimal. But that still doesn't make the game a bad game. You're just being sour if you say it actually harms the game.

Now obviously the game is not perfect. There are things that are just wrong, and then there are things that aren't right, and yes, there is a difference. Something that is wrong is that way because either A) they ran out of time on the feature/gameplay mechanic/player stat/face/bio/whatever or B) They didn't know about it. Something that is not right is that way because they cannot or do not know how to make it right, as in limitations in A.I., coding, or they don't know which gameplay mechanic works better for the game. For example, this and last year they changed (and then improved upon) skating. Just because that was their decision to go with that doesn't make it the correct one (or the wrong one), or the one that best imitates true to life skating. Hell, it might do speed better than it does gliding, or, well, you get the picture.

Point is get a bunch of different studios working on their own way to get something across, they will come up with different ideas. Not a single one of those is "right". And when EA is trying to come up with different gameplay mechanics, it's all for the improvement of their game. That does mean it's likely that other things will get overlooked, especially in their last iteration of this gens game. And next gens debut will at the very least look fresh (well it should), addressing all of the crying about presentation (which isn't even gameplay, and "new" doesn't mean "better"). But next gens debut will probably also be lacking and barebones. But we won't know until next year

So what you are right and every else is wrong? I agree things need to change in this game but not the franchise needs to die. A lot of people enjoy this game and I will play it for a whole year so well worth the $60.

If you don't like it then complain to EA and don't buy it, saying things like this on a dedicated EA nhl forum where most people here will buy the game and play the s*** out of it, maybe isn't the best place.

I'm not buying this game for the same reasons i listed in my original post. I don't have a blind hatred for EA as what i posted about this recycled series with major flaws is fact. I never called anyone a blind loyalist or EA fanboy for buying this game. The only people that should be offended by what i'm typing are blind loyalist of EA. IMHO People that are willing to buy this rehashed game have low standards or love to play glitchy online hockey and saying that is not offensive. I'll post anywhere i please... if you enjoy the game buy it and be happy
