Underpowered players

So there's been a lot of talk about Nick Young, Iggy, Gerald Green, etc... all the players who are way too good in 2K13. Which would you say are way not good enough?

I find Rondo ineffective. When rondo is slashing into the paint, if you see any daylight and direct the shot stick that way, he should find space, avoid contact, and make a solid attempt at a layup. IRL, rondo specializes in speeding up and underhand flipping it in past and under the help D. Instead, he's magnetically drawn to contact and crap animations and he misses. Rondo in this game rarely gets layups in traffic. His mid range game is terrible too. DO NOT pull up with Rondo, ever.

His passes are awesome, handle good, defense strong, but for the seasons he's had the last two years you don't see any of his offensive domination. Think of Game 2 ECF 44 points. Or the Knicks Christmas game in 2011. Those creative angles and sneaky layups, nowhere in this game. His ability to heat up and punish the D mid-range, as in that 44 point game, nowhere in this game.

Watch these highlights and you will not recognize any thing like this from 2K, except the passes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zx9PM2nU-cM

Anyway, who would you nominate as most underpowered player in 2K13?

Re: Underpowered players

Try spacing the floor with some stretch big men who will pull their defenders outside and open the lane for Rondo. I've had some success with guys like Jared Sullinger and Kevin Love pulling their men away from the lane. When Rondo has room to operate he usually ends up with only one player contesting his shot (opposed to his defender and a help defender) and in turn his shoot-in-traffic becomes much better.

Steve Nash feels like a player who is underpowered. His shot baffles me. I seem to miss more wide open three-pointers on a perfect release with Nash than I do with other players. I also struggle to get into the lane with Nash, as his ability to take players off the dribble seems to be lacking. I usually opt for Jimmer Fredette because he's cheaper and actually plays a little better than Nash (for me, anyway).

Re: Underpowered players

With Rondo use him as a pass first and defensive guard. Call pick and roll that way your opponent won't know wether you are passing or going for the layup. Floaters , eurosteps, pump fakes are essential. It's not as easy as scoring with Cp3 or Kyrie but its doable. And don't expect to score 44. I usually end up around 15-25 points and 10-15 dimes when controlling Rondo.

For Rondo i think you would need to change one of his Sig skills to Acrobat or Shot creator. I took out Scrapper. I think that should help him play more like himself

That's because there are hardly any animations for layups in traffic. In 2K11, there were several and many more special layup animations, like the Rondo shake. All of that's been taken away from 13.

I find him to be effective. Just use him in the right way. He's not going to score 20 every game, especially if you're pulling up with him at mid-range, since you shouldn't do that anyway. Use his floater instead - it's money.

Underpowered players? That would be every big man with a high BLK, DAWR, and LPD rating.

Re: Underpowered players

Tyson Chandler deserves at least an 80. Kevin Love could be a 90. Kevin Love IMO is arguably the best Power Forward in the league.

Then there is the people with like 50 ratings... Players like Novak have to get at least a 60.

Re: Underpowered players

Thanks for the tips y'all. And yeah, I do all right with Rondo too, and occasionally he'll beat a single defender handily on the drive. I always rack up assists, and admittedly I'm not very good at the floater, which I'm trying to improve because it would help a lot. I just feel like when he is attacking the lane he should tirgger the same kind of animations that friggin Terrance Williams does. If you don't know, Terrance Williams gets a head of steam in the lane and he'll dunk over your whole team. the bigs will part like the red sea or tumble to the ground under his power. Which is ridiculous. It wouldn't be as ridiculous if when you triggered the layup with Rondo similar stuff happened. It just seems like 2K has the flying over thing down, but the sneaking under not so much.

IRL Rondo can take over a game offensively by himself, scoring. In 2K that's not possible.

Who else?
