Stopping Corner Routes

maybe i'm late to the party here. But corners seem a bit more effective this year against most defenses. normally, the purple zone helped but doesnt seem to do so this year. Anybody know a good strat to stop it? i figure i'd try some qtrs deep plays next to try

Re: Stopping Corner Routes

Cover 4 usually helps or also Cover 6. The idea is you want your defender in FRONT of the receiver in these zones to intercept/tip the ball. Man coverage can help but it all depends on the QB.

Re: Stopping Corner Routes

Maybe something like Cover 2 Sink would work? You could set zone coverage to conservative so the cornerbacks play even deeper.

Re: Stopping Corner Routes

2 man under and take the safety on that side of the corner and put him in a purple moving him over to the sideline helps

Re: Stopping Corner Routes

What I do is put the safety's in spread, L2 + right stick up, this has the safety's play more toward the sideline, if your safety is good enough he can tip it or intercept it some times.

Depending on the type of cover two called this will leave the deep middle of the field wide open, unless your MLB is in buck(drops deep middle).

Re: Stopping Corner Routes

I am so sick of this money route. Every single game I play online people are abusing this. I try everything, every zone or man play in the game, nothing seems to work. they just have a TE or slot receiver run a corner and it's wide open EVERY SINGLE TIME. even against 2 man, both my safety and cb just get roasted to the sideline. Cover 4, Cover 2 sink, cover 6, man under, zone blitz, man blitz, cover 3, it doesn't matter.
