Diving Tackles

This may have been discussed already but man the diving tackles need to be adjusted big time. Defenders look like they have been shot out of a cannon and it causes fast players to get tripped up from behind far too often. It's also an eye sore, looking far from realistic. I'm really enjoying the game but it can be frustrating when this happens.

I've also tried to switch the game speed and threshold but it continues to happen. Do I need to change something else up?

Re: Diving Tackles

I have to agree with you, the diving ankle tackles are annoying. What I hate tough is that it's the same old outcome every-time! Why not mo-cap at least two outcomes. One a tackle and the other a stumble & recovery outcome? Or make is so some backs with automatically leap over them.

I agree that they may happen a little too often. However, I have reacted quick enough to avoid a few of them with a hurdle. Problem is that half the time I do that my guy ends up getting crushed by the next defender in pursuit, lol.

I agree. Of all of the outcomes, when the CPU or I dive it doesn't look or feel right. Probably the worst of the animations in the game. I like the idea, I just think the execution was off.

The smaller DB's and S's don't look too bad in the animation, but the D-lineman look terrible when they dive. Looks like the animation is forcing itself on the player.

Bingo! The animation needs to be slower for the big guys and they shouldn't dive as far. Looks reasonable for the smaller guys. I have avoided it by zigging and speed bursting at the right time.

Just add the stubble recover to it and it would be good to go. I like it though even if it does seem to ruin what could be a big run because a 250+ pound lineman dives 3 yards super man style...

Exactly. It's just those huge guys catching up before the back turns the corner. I'm thinking it happen to nerf big plays from happening to often.
