I'm having issues being able to call defensive plays while the offense is in no huddle. There seems to be a lot of lag waiting for the play call boxes to come up. is anyone else having issues, and if so how do I fix this?

It's not lag, it just doesn't let you call plays until the offense gets almost set.

For this reason alone, I took the game back.

I don't understand how this company can tests it's products and not find something so fundamentally wrong.

Really surprised more people haven't noticed this, it's my biggest issue with the game right now.

This used to be a problem for me. Until I realized that when I was on offense, I get the same "lag." Couldn't call an offensive play until my guys were set. So to me it evens out. Once you're at the line, it boils down to who can make their pre-snap adjustments first.

Which is a problem when the CPU doesn't do any and snaps the ball before you can even change the play.

I've had this problem as well. It has happen to me in the demo and the regular game.
