How do you approach the draft

I wanted to know how you guys approach the draft do you go for the best player at your pick or do you go for the player that will fit your style of play and strategy

Me Personally I like to go with the player(s) that will fit my style of play and strategy

Re: How do you approach the draft

I detest the artsy profile pictures of rookies so I refuse to keep any of them on my roster. Therefore, I draft the player that I think will have the highest trade value and send him packing for a real player.

I really want 2K14 to bring back real-looking rookie faces like they had in the older games.

Why don't you just use custom draft classes?

I downloaded some draft classes and used generated ones. Yr two with the Magic I am in Game 7 of the Finals! Avoided the Heat since the Bulls took em out in the semis. I draft for best fit for my team unless its a reach, then I go for BPA. Been doing drafts in sports games since I was 8, and I always fill a need in Madden, but in 2K you can get away with have 3 good shooting guards and 3 good PG's if you want to run your team that way.

Do the custom draft classes have real faces?

I normally tend to pick people based on my team needs, unless it is obvious that I should pick the best player available. I should probably pick the best player more often but it has always led to playing time problems.

Exactly, playing time in the rotation is one of the biggest things that I look at.

I first evaluate the current roster heading into the draft, and figure out where the free minutes are. If I already have some young guys that are waiting for their oppritunity to play, then I may trade the pick for an upgrade at another position. If I have an aging player on the roster, I may take a guy who can wait in the wings until the older player is done. This might mean trading down and adding dept in the process.

Drafting and free agency are some of my favorite parts of this game. A lot of strategy goes into it, and it is fun to have a vision and build a team.
