Apparently you can't customize your logo, uniform, colors, etc.

Who among Tiburon's finest thought that that would be a good idea? Oh yeah, let me tell you how much I want to relocate a team so I can have ZERO creative freedom to create my own team. I'm just trembling with anticipation.

Is there any reason to want to create a new team if you have almost no control over the look of that team? What do you guys think? I'm at a loss for words, personally.

This basically shows that no matter what you will always have people that complain.

Though the op is not totally unfair...at least we have it back in the game.

For me personally, I prefer this version of relocation to the ps2 versions. Relocation was totally pointless to me when it forced me to change my teams name, logo and uniforms.

The ideal would be to have both options...at the moment we had forced customization...and now no customization.

That being said, I'm just happy owner mode is back. And think that from what I've heard that it will be an excellent addition. Hopefully they fixed a lot of the gameplay issues as well.

Re: Why have team relocation if you can't customize ANYTHING at all?

Madden 2004 on PC had it all.

You can create new uniforms with custom helmet designs you can upload from your computer, pick from like 50 different logos or upload a custom logo, build your own stadium with custom logos, midfield, and endzone designs uploaded from your computer, and name your team whatever the hell you want

oh and also theres about 50 more cities to choose from which each have a desire rating for how much they want a team and they may reject your proposal whereas I believe in Madden 25 we can essentially pick and choose where we want to move to.

It's for immersion; I think you choose between a few presets for each of uniform etc, and choosing from presets avoids the commentators referring to your team as "The Home/Away" team every time.

You don't "create" your own team; you're just relocating & re-brand/marketing, so I don't even see how that's a particularly valid criticism.

Re: Why have team relocation if you can't customize ANYTHING at all?

Agree with the OP the only use for the mode is bringing back teams like the LA Rams or Houston Oilers for example outside of that creativity is basically nonexistent. I'm happy they brought back some type of relocation/create a team option I just find it funny that they make a big stink about not bringing these features back until they can do them "right" and then they hit us with more half done features like this one.

And no I don't buy the whole we limited options so we could immerse you with commentary thing either. NCAA has thousands of names in their audio database and there's nothing immersive about Maddens commentary anyway so I don't know why people are expecting these teams to get some type of royal treatment when the 32 default teams are still lacking in that department

Re: Why have team relocation if you can't customize ANYTHING at all?

I'm going to have to respectfully disagree with the OP. Sure, I would love to get a game with complete customization so that I can do whatever I please with my team. I thought it was really cool back in the day when you could relocate a team to what seemed like 100 different places. But there is something that comes along with the setting EA has chosen in Madden 25 that didn't come in the Madden's before and that is immersion. Let me break these down one by one so I can touch on each different topic a little bit:

1. Create A Stadium/Choose A Stadium

Obviously, I think everyone would really like the opportunity to create their own Stadium. Out of all the things in the Team Relocation Features, this is probably what I'm most disappointed with. However, they have improved this feature in a number of different ways. You're still going to have a chance to make the Stadium your own, if I'm recalling correctly. I believe Shopmaster said you have some internal stadium choices you get to make that sets your Stadium apart. And unlike past games, you actually get fan feedback about what kind of stadium you're building and what specific amenities come with that stadium. There was no real connection with the fans in prior games, this gives you that connection. And it also helps you choose a stadium that is more fit for the region you're moving into.

2. Create A Team Logo/Choose A Team Logo

I can understand why this would burn some people as I'm in love with NCAA Teambuilder and have a stock pile of custom logos I've made. I would have preferred a Teambuilder like option but I do think this comes with some positives. You know no matter what, you're getting a professionally made logo for your team. You're not going to see your team outclassed in the brand department when you get out there on the field. While there may not be more options, this is much better than the generic logos we got stuck with on Madden for years. So I can be happy with this knowing that I am going to get a Professional Logo that fits the brand and makes logical sense for where I'm moving too. The fans also get a choice in which brand you go with, so I like that.

3. Create A Uniform/Choose A Uniform

This falls in with Create A Logo and my preference for a Teambuilder like option. But again, I like the fact that these will be Uniforms that will have been professionally made and will fit with the region and brand you're moving into. The fact that you get three different options for each brand is a great thing and I love that the fans have a say. Moving a team to Chicago, Brooklyn or Dublin? You probably want traditional uniforms. Moving a team to Los Angeles, Orlando or Austin? You probably want modern uniforms. It helps you really make that team fit the region and demographic you're moving into.

4. Choose A City

Sure, you're losing out on being able to relocate your team anywhere you want. But seriously, what point is there in moving a team in playing the Nebraska BFE Cobra Sharks. No, now you're moving your team to place that research has proven could be a relocation/expansion option for the NFL. And not only are you getting to move your team to a realistic place, you're getting a realistic demographic(crowd) and a realistic representation of that specific city. It will feel like you're playing in Los Angeles, Brooklyn, London, Austin, Chicago, Orlando and Dublin. It won't just be some generic location with an unrealistic backdrop.

5. Presentation

This is something that Madden 25 is going to rock at. When you relocated your teams in past games, they never mentioned the name of your team or what city you were in. It was always "We're getting ready to watch the Dallas Cowboys square off with the Home Team!" Or, "An interception by the away team for a touchdown. Away Team leads this one, 21-14!" Now it will be: "We're getting ready to watch the Dallas Cowboys square off with the Brooklyn Dodgers! An interception by Brooklyn for the touchdown. The Brooklyn Dodgers lead this one, 21-14!" They're going to recognize your city, your team, your uniforms and your logo. They're going to make mention of your relocation to that city and what type of city you've moved into. They're going to mention the relocation and the city you left behind. None of that past stuff was available and past Maddens and wasn't executed nearly as well.

So yes, I'd like to see more customization make it into the game. Maybe next year they bump it up to 30 cities instead of 17. Maybe they let us choose between Traditional, Modern and Futuristic Uniforms like they do now but they let us decide what type the fans want and then let us customize that uniform. There are plenty of things they can build on with this feature but I do think its a really good feature. There is a room for improvement but it's a really good step in the right direction when considering what we had in the past. I think when you actually get the game, you'll enjoy it a bit more than you think you will right now.

Re: Why have team relocation if you can't customize ANYTHING at all?

I've got to agree with the above statements. I'm sure that the immersion of having set team names and cities will make the relocation feel realistic. I'm looking forward to whatever they offer in terms of new cities and essentially creating your own team, it makes the team feel more like your own and I honestly don't think that there's anything more important than that. I'd still love to see Teambuilder sort of incorporated in the future, but for now I feel it's a step in the right direction.

I'm responding to only one part so I've deleted the rest.

In theory I totally agree with you. My problem is that I do not believe that EA/Tiburon will put enough thought into it. It's just like last season with the inability to edit rosters: it's not that we wanted to be gods and break the game, it's that we wanted to be able to correct EA/Tiburon's mistakes.

I believe that I would do a MUCH better job than EA/Tiburon in selecting a realistic, region specific logo and uniform and colors. I think EA/Tiburon is going to blow it because it isn't nearly as crucial to the product as other issues with the game.

I would be fine with preselected names and such. But I don't believe EA/Tiburon will put enough time into colors and uniform schemes. They CERTAINLY wouldn't put as much time in it as I would.

But the real question, why are they trying to restrict the way their customers play the game? If I want a ridiculous color scheme for my team, how is it hurting any presentation at all to allow me, so long as team names and such are from a predetermined list? Of course I wouldn't. My choice would be to maximize realism, and take it FURTHER when it comes to realism than EA/Tiburon can afford to do themselves (since time is limited in the development cycle).
