Does This Bother Anyone Else?

I know this is probably a stupid question or thread, but does it bother anyone else when the people you recruit don't make sense?

For example, a 5'9" 180lb Running back who is a "Power Back"
then you have a 6'0" 230lb Running back who is a "Speed Back"

This shouldn't happen.

Also, in the espn top 150 recruits in the game every year you'll find white receivers as like the first or second rated wide receiver, this never happens. I'm white and I played receiver in high school as well, but realistically this shouldn't happen.

Maybe these are issues that nobody cares about, but I could be wrong.

Yeah, the players' play styles relative to their respective size annoys me too. But then again, I don't think play styles matter all that much seeing as how you can take pretty much any speed back regardless of their size and truck DTs like it's nothing.

The racial breakdowns of each position is annoying too and extremely unrealistic. There's a decent amount of white WRs in real life, so I can deal with that. Numerous white CBs and black K/Ps is where I draw the line though.

Another minor annoyance is when a white recruit is named something like DeShawn Washington.

Absolutely. To take your point a little further, I would like to see this team introduce a ratings system that is partially tied to physical attributes. If your player is rated 95 in Trucking and 62 in Elusiveness it should reflect in the players build. This would definitely help limit these backs with 87 trucking yet only 185 pounds. Its really an eye-sore to see a little back blow up my 250 pound MLB like they do in this game sometimes.

Completely agree. Although I could see how EA would want to protect themselves and try to represent each race randomly, I think it should be based on statistics from the racial breakdown of positions. Lets face it, there's far more African American runningbacks than Caucasian runningbacks and that should be reflected.

The mods are too sensitive on this site sometimes. It gets to be a little ridiculous. There's a reason there are different races, it doesn't have to be a demeaning thing. Its an issue of realism and how athletes and culture are reflected in life. Not saying a white 5* WR can't be named Deshawn, but in real life that just doesn't happen overly often and the game shouldn't have those scenarios nearly as often as it does.
