Star players regressing at 24 yrs old?

Today I was playing my franchise as the Cardinals and star outfielder Oscar Taveras' individual stats regressed 6 POINTS!!! It is 2017 and he is only 24 YEARS OLD!!!! He had an overall of 99 and went to a 97 and I have never edited his stats.

I've had similar problem with another guy on my team, I had a 28 year old SP go from being an 89 to a 83 in a single season, not cause of manager, but cause he just regressed.

Once a player reaches his peak overall, he'll stay there for a few years and eventually begin to decline, so yes, what your experiencing is not unusual or unexpected.

Same thing happens with Trout.

So how do you combat it so it's realistic, stop training for young prospects?

Since when are players' peaks at 24? And I checked Trout in the same franchise at age 27 and he is still 99 and is actually still progressing in some areas. I don't want to seem like a jerk but this kind of stuff keeps piling up with this game.

Its called being a flash in the pan and it happens IRL all the time, as has been mentioned in numerous other threads on the issue. Regression is WAD

Mike Trout frequently regresses in his first season.

It's not perfect, but I'd rather see too much regression than too little.
