These are two pitches I never touch when I choose to add a pitch to a player. And if a pitcher has one in his arsenal I never use it. (I never have before at least)

For some reason I look at these two pitches a gimmicks, but maybe I'm wrong. Can someone tell me what they do and why they would be better than say: A curveball, slider, Sinker or Knuckleball? Thanks.
