Question Justin Upton's rating

I think his rating in the game is too low for how he actually plays. Any braves fans or baseball people in general have any ideas on how to tweak his rating to reflect his real abilities? I wanna do a Braves franchise and i dont wanna rate him too high either. Thanks

You can find an updated roster in the vault, or change him yourself, and keep it modest...

Re: Justin Upton's rating

I put his plate vision around 60. Power is at 78 (I don't do power splits, they don't even make sense), and Contact is at 75/70.

He's over-performing in real life right now, but he is still a little better than his in-game rating dictates, I agree.

Re: Justin Upton's rating

Based on a three year weighted average, I have him at:

ConR 71
ConL 68
PowR 63
PowL 70
Vis 60
Disc 64
Clu 66
Dur 93
Spd 62
BrAb 51
BrAg 36

Doesn't include this seasons performances.

Huh? They mean a lot...

Look at Pittsburgh, for example. Garrett Jones has great power against right handers. However, he's average against left handers.

Cant you argue its because he's not hitting the ball well? Not because his bodily cells grow week depending on the pitcher he's facing.

Precisely. If you struggle to hit home runs it's because you aren't as good a hitter against that side.

Garrett Jones:

16 HR in 94 total Hits against Lefties. 17% of his hits are home runs
74 HR in 417 total Hits against Righties: Guess what that is? about 17%

His power is actually exactly the same against lefties as it is against righties. He's just a worse hitter against lefties in general.
There's no factual basis for power splits at all, barring switch hitters of course.
