Stealing on pitchouts

Has anyone successfully swiped bases on a pitchout?
I know odds shrink, but it's not impossible.

I'm seeing 'automatic' outs even with guys like Ellsbury, and I'm wondering if it's even possible...

There's an old thread that pitchout pitches were 5mph faster but I haven't noticed if that's happening or not.

(I only play MoM but this could pertain to all gameplay)

I just had Michael Bourne snag one against the Twins on a pitchout. He got a killer jump and flat out beat it to the bag.

I do it all the time with Angel Pagan or Gregor Blanco

Trey how exactly are you attempting to steal bases?
for example I press and hold L2 so I can time the pitcher. Before anyone thinks this is a leave early exploit I promise I don't cheese any aspect of baseball games. But tend to have to wait till sometime after I have had a chance to watch pitcher tempo and pitch sequence. I play with the braves and I'm confident even with uggla, liard, and guys not exactly gifted with speed like my outfield the other teams catcher better have a spot on throw to have a chance even on pick offs.

P.S. I dunno if you can dictate how players slide in MOM but I've noticed my stealing success went up 15% by head first hook sliding second base to the back of the bag.
One of three things will happen :
1) you get hosed
2) the hook slide is safe because the guy on the bag did his pick animation so it takes longer to take.
3) the catch makes a good throw but you hook slide to the back half elongating the tag needed to be made and are safe

Ill take my odds 2/3 every time

Re: Stealing on pitchouts

Is say I make it in about 50% of the time on pickoffs.

The real difference on mine is if the catchers throw is one of those that bounce just before reaching second then I'll be safe, but if it's right there I'm usually out.

I do it with Elsbery a lot. If you can get a lead and a nice jump you can beat it most of the time and sometimes even when they pitch out you can beat it because the catcher throws the ball too high.

I do find most of the pitch outs come on the 2nd pitch of an at bat

In Mangage Only Mode, you simply give the runner the Steal command, and it's all automatic from there.

In 2 games, I was caught 4 times, all on pitchouts.
2 w/Ellsbury, 1 each with Pedroia & Victorino.

And they always pitched out on the exact pitch I selected to steal.
It had me thinking...dare I say...a "comeback code" of pitchouts!

I just chose to start the thread because I don't remember ever seeing a successful steal on a pitch out.

Was it always a different pitch in the count?
Like I said it always seems when I try to steal on the 2nd pitch of an at bat that is when there is a pitch out.

I have stolen on a pitchout before its about 50/50 most times the throw is really high or I get a great jump and the pitcher has a really slow delivery. But its def possible
