Can't fill roster?

So, im new to baseball and don't understand really how the off-season and what not works, but every year after the rule 5 draft i end up with like 30 people left on my roster. to make things worse, when i come around to FA there are VERY VERY few players there for positions im lacking.

it says im 1/3 for CP and 8/15 for RP, but there are 0 CP and 5 RP in FA pool.

am i doing something wrong?

I had the same problem. What I did, after offering arbitration to players and offering contracts, I went in and re-signed some of the minor league guys I recognized, as well as some of the better minor league guys. You waited too long to do all that and now there's nobody left. You'll have to do it over.

I always re-sign most of my minor leaguers even if they're not very good so I don't run into roster issues! Plus for a CP, he doesn't have to be labled a CP to actually be used as one!

i offered a contract to EVERYONE who was in the "manage contracts" list, had my roster full up and what not right after rule 5 draft, BAM im down under 40 players, even when i had a full 40 man!
