Best slider set for Veteran hitting/All-Star pitching

I'm looking for the best set of sliders to use for my franchise, currently in spring training. I've been playing The Show every year since 2009, and this year in my franchise I'm having the hardest time hitting. I've tried TNK's, I've tried PsychoBulk's, and also tried FreddieLondHOF sliders...and each time I get beat on a "miraculous" comeback in the late innings. Right now, I have All-Star hitting/All-Star pitching settings, but thinking about taking hitting down as that is the area I need help with the most. However, the pitching difficulty is not bad...just I can never recover from the "rallys" the CPU always have.

So, any good suggestions for a set sliders to help with hitting, other than knocking hitting difficulty down to Veteran? One thing though, when I have played Veteran difficulty in the past...I get almost zero walks which I hate. At least with All-Star difficulty, I get on base (just get no clutch/XBase hits). I know this sounds specific, but can't find anything to my liking.

What specifically would you attribute your lack of hitting to? Would you say it's mostly due to strikeouts, or too many pitches on the corners, or that you are seeing plenty of meatballs but just are not getting the balls past fielders?

By the way, lock up and throw away the key on comeback code/rubberband AI/rally logic.

It does not exist in this game.

I've met the Senior Programmer, and can assure you he is a marvel. Probably one of the smartest people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting (and super nice too). He does not need to program any of those shenanigans into this game to get it to be balanced.

If you suck at hitting, just up the sliders. All these sliders are bases. If you can't hit on a certain slider, try increasing Human Timing and Contact a couple clicks. Maybe even Solid Hits.

Well, lately its been inability to get extra base hits...especially with runners on. For example, CPU would walk the leadoff guy (when I pitch and walk leadoff guy, that runner scores 80% of the time), and then get 3 outs from me without the runner ever getting past 2nd. Some outs are popups, some outs are called strike 3 on the corner, some are squibbers right at people. Its weird, but CPU seems to kill my rallies consistently. I do see meatballs, but I've played with timing with a few results, just not consistent. I dont ever seem to get the clutch double down the line, or the 3run HR in those situations thus far. And thats a sample size of about 10 games in spring training-franchise so far.

I've tried these, and my results are mixed but not what I'm looking for. For example, increasing contact means I strike out less/put ball in play more...but still seem to elude "hits". When I increase timing, it seems to have an adverse affect on me and help the CPU (I know that sounds crazy). I've played with increased Solid Hits, and I hit line drives at people ALOT.

Re: Best slider set for Veteran hitting/All-Star pitching

When I first got 13, I had the same feeling as you. I was adjusting. This happens when a series like this makes such a drastic change to it's hitting engine.

I decided to lower the pitch speed for a while and that feeling went away. In fact, I began to think hitting was too easy, so I bumped it back up. I had made the adjustment. Honestly, it took me almost 50 games.

Based on your post, my initial thought was that you were playing on a difficulty level too hard for you (right now). Until I remembered my experiences at launch.

Where do you have the pitch speed now? I think that will be your first best bet. Even if you have to zero it (lowering it worked for me).

Otherwise, Veteran may be your best option (without seeing your stats when using a consistent slider set) with a dropped Strike Frequency and Consistency slider.

But again, you sound just like I did earlier on and I stuck out All-Star.

It's a tough call without seeing your numbers.

I would say I average about 2-3 runs per game, less than 1 HR average per game, 2 walks per game, and about 5-7 hits per game.

I agree with you, and did think that tinkering with pitch speed was the way to go. However, I recently faced Toronto and freaking Mark Burhle had 5 strikeouts through 2 innings. I'm aware that he doesn't throw very hard, but his change up was the SLOWEST pitch I have seen (slower than Dickey's Knuckler), and I honestly had a hard time timing that. I really thought it was due to me lowering the pitch speed so low that off-speed was going to be super slow.
