Warmups

When you bring in a pitcher who isn't 100% warm, he gets stretched out with each of his 8 warmup pitches..

but if you just skip the pitches, is it assumed that he still does it? When doing it with a starter, you see him throwing pitches.

I don't know if my players are coming in not warm when i skip it. seems like a waste of time to do.

anyone know?

He won't be warmed up if you skip it.

Shut off WARM UP PITCHERS in your GENERAL gameplay options.

Yes, this is my understanding too. With relievers.

But does this also apply to the starting pitcher when skipping the initial pre-game warm-up?

I was under the impression that I could skip that without penalty.

Re: Warmups

If you are going to bring in a guy that isn't ready yet, you might as well do a mound visit just to get him over the last hump.

Then it's usually only a few warm ups to get him ready to roll.

Use that time to find out how much his pitches move. Better to do it there, than when you need a strike, and throw a pitch that breaks too much.

Also if i'm not mistaken, when you throw strikes during your warm up pitches it actually raises the pitch confidence level. I think skipping the warm up causes you to miss out on increasing the confidence of certain pitches.

This is correct. It took me about 3 games to realize that my pitch confidence was going up with each warm up pitch just as it does as you throw the pitches for strikes during the game.

Re: Warmups

I have Warm Up Pitchers OFF and EVERY pitcher enters the game fully warm and ready to go.
