How to turn off auto-fielding

Just picked up the game so sorry if this is a dumb question.

It looks like my current option is set to "assist" which is letting me control outfielders to run down fly balls, but its not letting me control the throwing to the cut off men, or at all for that matter. And on a routine grounball to first it didnt let me run to the bag myself.

Is there an option to change so that i can fully control fielding?

I believe there is a fielding decision setting and it might be set to auto. If so then you need to change it. I think there is an option for off so you will be in control of where the ball is thrown or if its thrown at all.

Manual fielding is assist, it just gives you a little help with the first jump.

To fix your problem you need to adjust your throwing options to manual instead of auto.
