What if...

Sony incorporated all minor leaguers roster by just giving all the players their correct height/weight and attributes, but changing a letter or two in their name and saying that the player is made up.

For example- Bubba Starling becomes Bubba Marling. That would make it easy for any bum to go and change the letters for the player. Would this be allowed? Even if they couldn't do this could they just completely change the names?

I don't believe they're allowed to have any sort of player likeness, similar to the NCAA rules.

2k used to do something similar to this, but it would be like Wayne Miller for Wil Myers

But everything about the players on NCAA except for (mostly) equipment and names are modeled after the players. Something like that would be awesome for minor leaguers IMO.

But unlike college, these guys are professionals. They make thier money playing game of baseball. I believe it has more to do with covering thier own butts and avoiding a "likeness" lawsuit

What about Reggie Stocker? He pretty much proves the rule. He was a Right-Handed Batter who had white skin and his name or physical stats didn't match Barry Bonds's at all.
