Methodology Notes
I came up with these sliders by making a spreadsheet that compares my played game statistics to the real life averages from the 2007-2008 season. I would play a couple games in my legacy, enter my stats, and adjust the sliders accordingly. The gameplay is fun, but as been said before by others, sometimes you get 10 straight minutes of great looking basketball followed by a WTF moment. These sliders make no attempt aren't a remedy for that; they are designed purely to produce statistical totals in line with real life averages from the season the game was designed to replicate. So far, I've been pleased with my results.
Reasons Why Your Results May Vary
I was lucky enough to download about 5 playbooks made by another user (sorry would give credit, but cant remember the user in question) before 2kShare went down. These playbooks represent major AI upgrades and before each game I select the one that works best for my oppositions' personnel. They are Balanced, Perimeter, Isolation, High Post, and Low Post. If someone wants to walk me thru how to share these the in post-2kshare world, I will oblige if possible, as I HIGHLY recommend them. If you plan on using the default playbooks, I would recommend turning user defensive awareness, steal, steal success, and help defense way down, since the CPU plays will be very easy to anticipate.
Also, my play style is probably unorthodox. I play with my own custom playbook for my team, and I use Play Vision with CPU playcall about 75% of the time. I also have a house rule whereby I do not use any sort of fullcourt pressure unless trailing in the 2nd half. If you insist on running the fullcourt press the whole way, you'll probably dominate on these settings.
There are currently no plans to modify these further, but share your results and I'll be happy to make suggestions.
