Pressure from DT

Ok so I've read a bunch of threads that say that basically the LE is the only D-lineman that gets QB pressure but I wanted to know if anyone had any tips for getting pressure with dts. I drafted a young stud but he's Mr. Irrelevant when he's on the field. Not looking to get a ton of sacks or anything like that, but 2-3 tackles a game would be nice. I play in a 4-3 btw.

Kick the stud to end because there's nothing you can do.

Re: Pressure from DT

Interesting. I run an attacking 4-3 with the Lions in my online CCM. Suh led the team with 10 sacks on the season, Avril the LE had 8, RE had 6, and LOLB had 4. I always control the MLB. I'm sure play calling makes a difference, as well as who you're controlling. I also play in a CCM that has 30-32 users, so playing against a human opponent could make a difference as well.

Re: Pressure from DT

You can get pressure from the DT if you have the pass rush slider for the HUM and the pass block slider for the CPU calibrated correctly. The tendency in most slider sets is to have the HUM pass rush down way too low. This results in instant pancakes by the CPU OL.

If you start at default All Pro, you will see that you can get a reasonable number of successful bull rushes. Once you know how to do some other moves (like L stick down and R stick up for a kind of swim or spin; L stick in and R stick out for a kind of swim/split a double team), you can add pressure that way. You won't get instant sacks or a stupid amount of them, but with a good DT, you will push the pocket, make the QB uncomfortable so that he has to move, and get a sack here and there.

So I'd suggest starting there and moving the HUM pass rush value down until you see enough pressure but not too many sacks for your liking. Just don't put the CPU pass blocking up so high that you can't actually engage and do the pass rush moves.

Pass rush in madden 13 is Broken, I play a money CCM with 31 other players and 90% of the teams drop 9 into coverage and throw a blitz in every once in a while. One of the best players in our league runs a 4-6 cover four and randomly drops DL into areas he thinks you might be trying to attack, while usering the FS and MLB to ball hawk the middle of the field.

Re: Pressure from DT

ANOTHER TIP..... put your fastest DE at the DT position! that's what I do... its money! for example I use the seahawks and I put Bruce Irvin at #1 DT position... he's a beast. He's normally a RE. One more thing.... if the RE or LE you want to put in the DT position is at the #1 or #2 position in their original RE or LE postion.... u must put them in the #3 position, then you can go to the DT position and put them in the #1 spot. or else its gonna say... you cant start a person on defense twice. hopes this helps!
