Individual Stealing

With runners on first and third, how do you tell the man on first to steal. i looked in the "Controls" section and it says left thumb stick towards the base and L2... everytime i do it, both runners steal.

i use hitting behind the catcher, so what i do is
Hold Left Thumb Stick right (Towards man on first)
While holding the thumb stick, i press L2

thanks for anyone who can help

Aim the right stick at the runner you want to steal and then push the button to the corresponding base you want him to steal. If I wanted to steal second i'd point my right stick towards first and then hit triangle.
I think if you are using the default settings you can point your right stick at first and then hit L1 to make only that runner extend his lead and you could aim right stick at first and hit L2 to make only that runner steal.

You were correct it is supposed to be the LEFT stick. I'm not having trouble stealing individually but I am having trouble taking a lead with my runner on first if there is another runner on 2nd/3rd.

Move the Left stick towards the runner you want to take the extra lead with(hold it in that position) and press L1

Is this the same way you advance runners after a hit? I've been using L1 and R1 and I can't seem to locate how to run with individual runners.

I never use L1 to advance runners I always target them with the left stick so their icon blinks and press the corresponding button to what base I want them to go to. So for example if I have a runner on first and there is a ball hit in the gap and I want him to be at third, I target the runner taking off and hit square for him to head to third and it will be a seamless transition.

So, using your example what direction do I hit to target the runner? Do I hit right because he was on first and then square to get him to third?
