Conference Tournament Discussion

Conference tournaments started this week, a few actually started Tuesday. I figured we will have a few threads up for some of the bigger conferences.

Re: Conference Tournament Discussion

The Missouri Valley Conference is big for bubble teams. If Creighton or Wichita State does not win it there will be one less bubble spot. Indiana State and Evansville are both capable of winning it.

Re: Conference Tournament Discussion

Automatic bids to the NCAA tournament are handed out to 30 conference tournament champions. The Ivy League does not hold a conference tournament. Its regular-season champion earns the automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.

Re: Conference Tournament Discussion

One of my favorite weeks of the year. I love watching as many of these conference tournaments and championships that I can. Two tournaments that I think will be great are the A-10 and Pac-12.

The A10 is going to be a great tournament with so many good teams and not a clear favorite.

Yeah I'm thinking of taking the train up to see the quarterfinal games next Friday since I haven't been to Brooklyn arena yet. I got work on Saturday (semi-finals), so I doubt I will make another trip to see the title game on Sunday. Since I went to a ton of games when it was in Atlantic City, I want to see this tournament before the A-10 goes through major changes.

The other tournament I used to love to watch on TV was the CAA. All of the games were great but with all of the changes in the league, I'm not so sure what to expect.

Re: Conference Tournament Discussion

Three auto-bids could be handed out today: Ohio Valley (Belmont/Murray State), Atlantic Sun (Mercer/FGCU), Ivy (Harvard, w/ W & Princeton L)

Belmont Murray State should be a good game.
