Does the lack of Signature Dribbling hurt 2k13's authenticity?

The lack of signature dribbling really hurts the authenticity of 2k13. The dribble stick is a good feature theoretically. However, it is implemented poorly and makes the game "SLIGHTLY" and1ish.

Signature dribbling was not only aesthetically a good thing, it was important to the realism of the game. Every average ballhandler in 2k13 is extremely adept at handling the ball, and making quick dribble moves that they were unable to do in earlier versions of 2k (and in real life). The ability to use the dribble stick seamlessly with average dribblers has lowered the importance of using good ball handlers, and has made the ability to drive thru and around good on ball defense far to common.

The overpowered ballhandling in conjunction with the lack of a live ball are 2 things that make offensive play over powered in 2k13.

What do you think?

they should base crossovers on the type of moves they actually do. Meaning players like Kyrie Irving,Chris Paul,Brandon Jennings have their own dribble styles that shat should be in the game. Kyrie hits u with fast dribble moves many times between the legs & uses head fakes. Chris Paul uses many headfakes & pull back crossover moves to get the defender to think he will attack the basket. Brandon Jennings uses short fast dribble moves close to the ground to get the defender to get extremely low & of balance. Even a player like Kevin Durant who is tall has a very good crossover, he uses his long arms that often drags the defender when he fakes left then goes right or vise versa, Tracy Mcgrady,Iverson, etc all had unique crossover styles & in 2k13 every player is pretty much able to do the same thing as everyone else. There have been times in 2k a PF or C hits u with a mean crossover & your like huh? Fix that 2k

I'm just now realizing this. Hmm...the crossovers I can do with Jennings, I can also do with Shane Battier...

Yeah I agree with OP, they need to revise the ball handling.

Re: Does the lack of Signature Dribbling hurt 2k13's authenticity?

I could be completely wrong, but there's a small part of me that feels like 2K may have mentioned that signature dribbling may have had to be scaled back a little (or a lot) this year to accommodate the implementation of their new dribbling system. Again, maybe I'm making that up, but there seemed to be the suggestion that signature dribbling would return, it just had to be simplified to get the new system off the ground.

Either way, I totally agree signature dribbling should be very much improved upon. It's pretty difficult to tell one ball handler from another in 2K13. And some of the very common moves for 2K players don't seem at all common in real life. For instance, the behind-the-back dribble seen at 2:17 of the clip below is seemingly executed by the computer at least once a game, as if it's a routine maneuver like a simple cross, when it reality it's relatively rare to pull off.

It's the first year they added right stick dribbling so they had to compromise the signature stuff. Mike mentioned awhile back that he had more plans for the right stick dribbles...
