NBA 2K14 - Let's Talk About NBA Authenticity, Artistic Improvements

The point of this is to make it as easy as possible to get these updates into the game; pictures help provide that immensely. Try to stay as specific as possible. This isn't a wishlist thread, but more a correction thread.

Will be similar to the thread below
http://www.operationsports.com/forum...rovements.html

Player Faces

Below is a thread about current players that need a new cyberface because they don't represent the player accurately or are outdated.
http://www.operationsports.com/forum...-nba-2k13.html

Dream Team: Several players in the Dream Team don't match how they looked the year they were playing in the Olympics. - NBA 2K13 Dream Team

Michael Jordan - In Game vs Real Life, Scottie Pippen - In Game vs Real Life, Larry Bird - In Game vs Real Life, Karl Malone - In Game vs Real Life, John Stockton - In Game vs Real Life, Patrick Ewing - In Game vs Real Life

Classic:
Allen Iverson - In Game vs Real Life

Here is a list of players that should be added to free agent pool (some D-League Gatorade Call Ups and veterans)
Spoiler

New players that need cyberfaces:

Player Looks

Please address the player models. Every player doesn't have a LeBron, Howard body type. Player models should be divided into four categories:

Wiry - Skinny and long - Tayshaun Prince, Kevin Durant, Corey Brewer
Normal - Undefined muscles - Tim Duncan, Paul Pierce, Anderson Varejao, Samuel Dalembert
Muscular - Very defined - Dwight Howard, Serge Ibaka
Hefty - Big and bulky, a little "chunky" - Glen "Big Baby" Davis, DeJuan Blair
- Guys with long hair should have hair that moves/flows as they run up the court (Ex: Faried, Varejao)
- Add sweat - Ingame vs Real Life
- Add leg tattoos - J.R. Smith, Marcin Gortat
- Add body hair (chest, armpits, arms, legs, etc) - Steve Nash

Accessories

- Have home and away accessory colors. Include an option where we can set it and mix headband/accessories/shoes colors for home and away - Ref 1. Boston Celtics Home / Boston Celtics Away
- Player accessories often do not look "white", instead they look grey, especially in arm sleeves and head bands so please fix this issue.
- Make all Adidas Gear exclusive to MyPlayer available for all NBA players - Ex: Adidas Powerweb Calf Sleeve, Adidas Ankle Brace
- Add Long Knee Sleeves - Ref.1, Ref.2
- Hex Pads shouldn't be connected to a short, they should be separated - Ref.1, Ref.2
- The extended finger tape must not cover the whole finger and we should have the option to add numbers to it - Kobe Bryant, Kevin Garnett
- Also allow us to double up on the finger tape - Delonte West
- Have the option to add numbers/NBA Logo on elbow, forearm, wrist bands - Jason Kidd, Jason Terry, Shawn Marion
- Allow us to assign goggles to players as an accessory (just like you would with an Arm Sleeve). Let us choose from different types and let us edit the color of the frames (allow clear frames too), the glass, the mask and the strap. Amar'e Soudemire, C. Douglas-Roberts, Horace Grant, Ben Wallace, James Worthy, Kurt Rambis
- Allow us to assign masks as an accessory. Include these masks: K. Bryant, K. Irving, R. Hamilton (notice it's different than Kobe's
- Allow us to edit sock color just like before
- Bring back the Mid Calf Sleeve with Hex Pads - Ref.1, Ref.2
- Make it so that Padded Calf Sleeve/Leg Sleeves show socks J.R. Smith - Leg Sleeve, JaVale McGee - Padded Calf Sleeve
- Improve elbow bands they look to puffy, popped out - Ref. 1, Ref. 2
- Add a short arm sleeve with padding - Mo Williams
- Add large knee brace - Andrew Bynum, Tim Duncan
- Add knee braces with blue padding - Kevin Durant
- Make it so we can layer accessories over others by order (if I put a leg sleeve first then a knee hex pad 2nd then the hex pad will be over the leg sleeve) - Dorell Wright, Derrick Rose
- Add the option to add Wrist Bands combined with Rubberbands like so - Marcin Gortat
- Add new hand and thumb wraps - Chris Paul, Luol Deng
- Add mouthguards. Many NBA players wear them and chew on them while they are on court - Ref. 1, Ref.2
- When NBA players who use "High Thigh Pad (compression shorts)" are in air/motion make it so the shorts go up to show them - Ref.1
- Fix the undershirt problem: you can't see undershirt when player is still or just shooting a jumpshot but you can see it when the player is in the going for a ball, etc - Ref.1 - Still/Durant, Ref. 2 - In Motion/Ellis
- Add Navy Blue as a Team Color Option for the Nuggets - Ref. 1, Ref. 2
- Add small knee hex pads w/o holes in the back - Caron Butler, Kevin Love
- Change the Double Medium Socks name to Double Long Socks, the new Medium Double Socks should have a regular Medium Sock and a Short Socks over it - Ref.1
- Make it so you can have either the ankle wrap/brace over the sock (when ever you attach an ankle brace in NBA 2K13 the sock/leg sleeve gets removed) - Ref. 1, Ref.2, Ref.3 - Delonte West
- Add an option to make the socks look rolled down - Chris Paul
- Have the option to have NBA logos on socks or not - Ref.1
- Add Sleeve sizes some players sleeves go all the way down their wrist others show their wrist - Show Wrist, Don't Show Wrist

Jerseys

- Make the jersey's tighter and more fitted Ref. 1, Ref. 2, Side of jersey Real Life vs Ingame
- Make shorts shorter, they are way too long - Real life vs Ingame
- The Warriors away jerseys should be a more deep/true royal blue color - Ref. 1, Ref. 2. On the back of the away jersey at the top, the basketball should be yellow - Ref. 1
- Include special jersey patches through jersey art updates - Ref. 1, Ref. 2, Ref. 3
- Include the retro jerseys to be worn in the 2012-13 Season - Ref.1, Ref. 2
- Include the new Winter Court jerseys for all these teams
- Retro 92 Blazers need that red waistband removed from the jerseys.
- Include alternate jerseys for classic teams too. Ref. 1, Ref. 2, Ref. 3
- Era specific NBA Finals logo on jerseys - Ref. 1, Ref. 2, Ref. 3
- Add jersey fit some players wear tight jerseys, some wear them looser, baggy. Some guys wear shorter shorts, some guys prefer the longer shorts - Ref. 1, Ref. 2

Arena Specific

- Correct seat types for Target Center - Real Life vs Ingame
- Include all NBA team's mascots - Ref. 1
- Classic Chicago Stadium: Center court logo should not be cut up by lines.
- Make the surroundings/seating/roof & shot clocks of classic arenas to reflect their past real life counterparts and not generic.
- Make that grainy gray film & old school presentation available for other modes: quick play, season, franchise mode, etc.
- Remove no-charge zone half circle from classic arenas in all game modes.
- Add Boston Garden for old Celtics teams

Shoes

- Great job on adding the shoe creator but please fix the "rubber glitch" where all shoes materials switch to rubber when you start up the game again
- Please fix the materials especially suede, patent leather and mesh
- Add high definition/resolution shoes for more realism - Ref. 1 , Ref. 2
- Great job on adding the NBA 2K Shoe Creator on NBA 2K13 and making Jordan shoes like the Jordan XI's fully customizable
- Fix the color options for the following shoes:
Air Jordan VI - You can't create popular colorways like the Carmine 6s or the Olympic 6s.

- Make the following shoes full customizable just like the Jordan I, III, IV, VI, IX, X, XI, etc
Air Jordan V
Air Jordan VII
Air Jordan XIV
Air Jordan XVI
Air Jordan XVII

Presentation
- No more generated players in starting lineups as your about to go to tip off (unless they don't have pictures) - Ref.1, Ref.2
- Most players come at a separate time not all at once out of a black bus, also sometimes players wear casual clothes not suits all the time, just switch it up - Ref.1, Ref.2
- Add the introduction of players before the game starts

In Game Crowd Reactions
- Maybe even if a returning player from injury, star player or a player with a storied career gets traded in association mode or my player they get a large standing ovation when they enter the game, like in Rudy Gay's first game. He actually had multiple standing ovations. Amare had a standing ovation also, and D Rose will have the whole world give a standing ovation.
- You know when you make a flashy pass or break someones ankles, the commentators have no idea what is happening, and the crowd is just reacting as if it was a regular pass. We need CROWD REACTION to be focal point in authenticity. Also if a player air balls that crowd will make some noise.
- Basic 2 handed dunks shouldn't be getting a reaction like they just completed an in-game thru the legs dunk.

Lol 2k already did a pretty good job on the Authenticity, so people don't have much else to add.

Re: NBA 2K14 - Let's Talk About NBA Authenticity, Artistic Improvements

I never understood the whole player model scheme for 2k.

I liked Live's player models more, due to the fact that in 2K everyone looks overweight. >.<

I would also love to see them add multiple broadcast carriers in the game over the years. (Ex. espn, TNT)

I also really agree with adding more accessories, and adding leg tattoos and sweat.

With all of these additions, this game would be phenomenal.

Yeah I'd love to see broadcasts in the upcoming 2k game. It would be really cool trying to make your way to being broadcasted on ESPN so until that you're just on NBA League Pass or something...
