Shot Clock

Looking at few lower scoring games in college hoops get me thinking. Would lowering the shot clock in college hoops open up the game and get rid of some of the ugly, grind it out type of game? And if so how many seconds should the new clock be?

No offense to teams that like to play that style but in my opinion the game of basketball was meant to be played in an up tempo, free flowing manner. And at times particularly in college hoops there are too many games that set the game back 100 years.

No and no. I like college basketball unique. If it's just a minor league variation of the NBA, then what's the point?

The rules you are suggesting would take away any that is remaining and force teams to similar strategies as each other. Anything that makes the college game more like the NBA isn't good to me. I enjoy the different strategies that teams are able to employ. We might complain about the way a Wisconsin team plays, but they aren't there to entertain us. They're there to win basketball games. If their strategy results in wins, then why should they be punished?

I think the college game is just fine the way it is. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. I get tired of all these changes that happen to make sports more flashy and highlight-ready. Shootouts/loser points in hockey, rules favoring offense in football, etc.
