Do Coach Ratings Matter?

Is there an in-game difference between a coach who has an "A" rating for offense, and a coach who has a "D" rating for offense? Do plays run more efficiently or something?

ive wondered this as well. I think the coaching impact as a whole on the gameplay needs to be explained much more.

I'm not sure if they affect games you play, but they affect your team rating which affects simulation.

Yes it affects but as far as I know it doesn't do anything with gameplay.

Re: Do Coach Ratings Matter?

i'v kinda assumed that it helps the off-season progressions, if the coach has an A in (i think Training?/development) then he helps the player overall get better, if he has an A in Offense then the off-season progression you will see the offensive ratings get boosted more then if that coach had an D also for defense...

IDK, other then that all i can assume is that he(the coach) factors into a teams overall rating(what you see before quick games or anything like that) and maybe when simming a game...which i doubt, since a team with a coach with all D's but an average team across the board won't do any worse or better on average then a team with the same roster talent but a coach with all A's

ive always thought it was a mixture of this and how their rating affecting the coaching profiles. ie if the coach had an A rating in defense say the coaching sliders had a high defensive pressure rating then the team would follow that more so than if the coach had a D rating. all made up in my head though so odds are it has nothing to do with that i just figured thats the only real way coaching would matter in a game where you control everyone.

unless its solely for sim stats.. just thought of that now too

I think it affects the gameplay a little bit. :)

This is my 'theory' on the whole coach rating thing.

The ratings might only be for simulations, since if you use Association and play it yourself, you're the coach.

Offensive Ratings;
-The coach will have a better offensive strategy and tendency.

Defensive Ratings;
-The coach will have a better defensive strategy.

For the others, I don't know.

But this often just leans on the simulation strategy (which will be shown before the first game of the association season in year one)

Remember, that's only a THEORY.
Not really an explanation, but it is probably what's happening.
